Funkcija
urediOvaj gen je član porodice fosfoproteinskih gena M-faze (MPP). Kodira fosfoprotein s J domenom i domenom koji veže Myb DNK, koja se nalazi i u jedru i u citosolu. Protein je sposoban formirati heterodimerni kompleks koji se povezuje s ribosomima, djelujući kao molekulski šaperon za novonastale polipeptidne lance pri izlasku iz ribosoma. Ovaj protein je identificiran kao leukemija-povezani antigen, a ekspresija gena je povećana u leukemijskim blastima. Također, hromosomske aberacije koje uključuju ovaj gen povezane su s primarnim pločastim ćelijama tumora glave i vrata. Ovaj gen ima pseudogen na hromosomu 6. Opisane su alternativno prerađene varijante koje kodiraju različite izoforme proteina; međutim, sve varijante nisu u potpunosti okarakterizirane.[6]
