Funkcija
urediOvaj gen je član porodice sauvagin/kortikotropin-oslobađajući faktor/urotenzina I. Strukturno je povezan sa faktorom oslobađanja kortikotropina (CRF) genom. Kodirani proizvod je endogeni ligand za receptore CRF tipa 2. U mozgu može biti odgovoran za efekte stresa na apetit. Uprkos sličnosti u imenima gena, proizvod ovog gena nema sličnost sekvence sa urotenzinom II.[6]
