Podjedinica 5 snRNK-aktivirajućeg proteinskog komplesa je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom SNAPC5.[5][6]
Gross (2014) locirao je gen SNAPC5 na hromosomu 15q22.31, na osnovu poravnanja SNAPC5 sekvence (GenBank AF093593) sa genomskom sekvencom (GRCh37[7]

SNAPC5 kodira podjedinicu snRNK-aktivirajućeg proteinskog kompleksa (SNAPc), koja je potrebna za transkripciju i RNK-polimeraze II i III snRNK (SNAPC1) (Henry et al., 1998).
Kloniranje i ekspresija
urediAnalizom mikrosekvence 19-kD polipeptida prisutnog u SNAPC-u, praćenom pretragom baze podataka EST i RT-PCR analizom, Henry et al. (1998) dobili su cDNK za kodiranje SNAPC5, koju su nazvali SNAP19. Analiza sekvence predvidjela je da protein od 98 aminokiselina sadrži motiv leucinskog zatvarača na svom N-kraju i proteinski dio glutamata od 10 ostataka na C-kraju.
Funkcija gena
urediKoristeći superpromjenu i imunoblot analize, Henry et al. (1998) potvrdili su postojanje SNAPC5 u kompleksu s elementom proksimalne sekvence (PSE) promotora snRNK i da je potreban za transkripciju gena snRNK i pol II i pol III. Analiza imunoprecipitacije kotransliranih SNAP gena sugerira da SNAPC4 čini okosnicu na kojoj se okupljaju SNAPC2 i SNAPC5. Ovo potonje je neophodno za naknadno sastavljanje SNAPC1 sa SNAPC4, nakon čega slijedi sastavljanje SNAPC3 sa SNAPC1. Rekonstituirali su SNAPC iz pet rekombinantnih podjedinica i pokazali da se ovaj jedarnii kompleks veže za PSE i usmjerava transkripciju s RNK pol II i pol III snRNA.[9]
