Ovo je djelimični spisak objekata u Sunčevom sistemu po veličini, podešen u silaznom redu u smislu zapreminskog poluprečnika, i podijeljen u nekoliko klasa veličine. Ovi spiskovi također mogu biti sortirani u skladu sa masom objekta, i, za najveće objekte, zapreminom, gustoćom, i površinskom gravitacijom, ako su ovi podaci dostupni. Ovaj spisak uključuje Sunce, planete, patuljaste planete, većinu većih malih tijela Sunčevog sistema (što uključuje asteroide), sve imenovane prirodne satelite, i jedan broj manjih objekata od historijskog ili naučnog interesa, kao što su komete i Zemlji bliski objekti.
redoslijed može biti drugačiji, zavisno od toga da li neko odabira radijus ili masu, jer su neki objekti gušći od drugih. Na primjer, Uran je veći nego Neptun ali lakši, i također Ganimed i Titan su veći nego Merkur, oni imaju manje od polovine Merkurove mase. Ovo znači da neki objekti iz nižih tabela, uprkos manjem radijusu mogu biti masivniji od objekata iz gornjih tabela zato što imaju veću gustoću.
Za objekte Sunčevog sistema masivnije od 1021 kilograma (jedan yotagram [Yg]) je poznato da se očekuje da su otprilike sferični. Astronomska tijela se opuste u zaobljene oblike (elipsoid), postižući hidrostatičku ravnotežu, kada je gravitacija njihove mase dovoljna da nadjača strukturalnu snagu njihovih materijala. Objekti sačinjeni od leda postaju zaokrugljeni lakše nego oni sastavljeni od stijena, i mnogi ledeni objekti su sferoidni kod mnogo manjih veličina. Kritična granica za zaobljenost je negdje između 100 km i 200 km u radijusu.[1]
Veći objekti sa masom u rasponu između 1018 kg do 1021 kg (1 to 1000 zetagrama [Zg]), kao što su Tetija, Ceres, i Mimas, su se ravnotežno ustalili u sferoide spljoštene na polovima usljed njihove gravitacije, dok su manje masivni obluci (n.p.r. Amalteja i Janus) ugrubo zaobljeni, ali ne i loptasti, dakle nedovoljno su "nepravilni".
Sferoidna tijela u pravilu imaju određeno polarno zaravnjenje usljed centrifugalne sile izazvane njihovom rotacijom, i nekada mogu čak imati različite ekvatorijalne prečnike (raznostrane elipsoide kao u primjeru Haumea). Za razliku od tijela poput Haumea-e, nepravilna tijela odstupaju znatno od oblika elipsoida.
Podaci za objekte imaju različitu pouzdanost, uključujući neodređenost u iznosima mase i radijusa, i nepravilnosti uobliku i gustoći, sa tačnošću koja često zavisi od njihove blizine Zemlji, i da li ih je posjetila svemirska letjelica.
