Funkcija
urediOvaj gen kodira člana porodice F-kutijskih proteina koji se odlikuje motivom od približno 40 aminokiselina, F-kutijom. Proteini F-kutije čine jednu od četiri podjedinice ubikvitinske proteinskog ligaznog kompleksa zvanog SCFs (SKP1-kulin-F-kutija), koji funkcioniše u fosforilaciono-zavisnoj ubikvitinaciji .
Proteini F-kutije podijeljeni su u tri klase: Fbws koji sadrže WD-40 domen, Fbls koji sadrže leucin bogata ponavljanja i Fbxs koji sadrže ili različite module interakcije protein-protein ili ne sadrže prepoznatljive motive. Protein kodiran ovim genom pripada klasi Fbxs. Ovaj protein je veoma sličan pacovskom proteinu NFB42 (neuralni F-kutijski sa 42 kDa) koji je obogaćen u nervnom sistemu i može imati ulogu u održavanju neurona u postmitotskom stanju.[7]
