DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) kutijski polipeptid 31, znan i kao DDX31, je ljudski gen.[5]
DEAD-kutijski proteini, koje karakterizira konzervirani motivAsp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), pretpostavljene su RNK helikaze. Uključeni su u brojne ćelijske procese koji uključuju promjenu sekundarne strukture RNK, kao što su inicijacija translacija, jedarna i mitohondrijska orerada i sklapanje ribosoma i splajsosoma. Na osnovu njihovih obrazaca distribucije, vjeruje se da su neki članovi ove porodice proteina iz DEAD-kutije uključeni u embriogenezu, spermatogenezu i ćelijski rast i diobu. Ovaj gen kodira člana ove porodice. Funkcija ovog člana nije utvrđena. Alternativna prerada ovog gena generira dvije varijante transkripta.[5]
