Podjedinica alfa-2 receptora neuronskog acetilholina, znana i kao nAChRα2, je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom CHRNA2.[5][6] Protein kodiran ovim genom podjedinica je nekih nikotinskih acetilholinskih receptora (nAchR).

Funkcija

Nokaut ovog mišjeg gena potencira nikotinski modulirana ponašanja.[8] Upotrebom dvije različite genetički modificirane mišje mutantne linije (Chrna2L9'S/L9'S i Chrna2KO), nalazi su upozorili da α2* nAChR-ovi utiču na hipokampusno ovisno učenje, pamćenje i sinapsnu plastičnost kod adolescentnih miševa.[9]
