Funkcija
urediProtein kodiran ovim genom je GTPazno-aktivirajući protein (GAP) koji se povezuje sa Golgijevim aparatom i za koji se smatra da je u interakciji sa ADP-ribozilasijskim faktorom 1 (ARF1). Kodirani protein vjerovatno podstiče hidrolizahidrolizu ARF1 vezanog GTP, što je potrebno za disocijaciju proteina omotača iz Golgijski-izvedene membrane i vezikula. Disocijacija proteina omotača je preduslov za fuziju ovih vezikula sa ciljnim kompartmentima. Aktivnost ovog proteina je osjetljiva na fosfolipide. Ovaj gen je prvobitno bio poznat kao ARFGAP1, ali to je sada ime srodnog, ali različitog gena.[7]
