Funkcija
urediOvaj gen kodira integralni membranski protein povezan sa presinapsnim vezikula mau neuronskim ćelijama. Tačna funkcija ovog proteina je nejasna, ali studije sličnog mišjeg proteina sugeriraju da funkcionira u sinapsnoj plastičnosti, a da nije potreban za sinapsni prijenos. Genski proizvod pripada porodici gena sinaptogirina. Identificirane su tri alternativno prerađene varijante transkripta koje kodiraju tri različite izoforme.[7]
