STAU1
Dvolančani RNK-vezujući staufen-proteinski homolog 1 je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom STAU1.[5][6][7]
Staufen je član porodice dvolančanih RNK (dsRNA)-vezujućih proteina koji učestvuju u transportu i / ili lokalizaciji iRNK u različite subćelijskim odeljcima i / ili organelama. Ove proteine karakterizira prisustvo višestrukih dsRNK-vezujućih domena, koje su potrebni da vežu RNK sa dvolančanom sekundarnom strukturom. Ljudski homolog staufena kodiran pomoću STAU, osim toga, sadrži mikrotubule–vezujući domen sličan domenu protein 1B povezan sa mikrotubulama i veže tubulin. Pokazalo se da je proizvod gena STAU prisutan u citoplazmi zajedno sa hrapavim endoplazmatskim retikulumom (RER), implicirajući ovaj protein u transportu iRNK mrežom mikrotubula do mesta translacije RER-a. Opisane su pet varijanti transkripta koje proizlaze iz alternativne prerade proizvoda gena STAU i kodiraju tri izoforme. Tri od ovih varijanti kodiraju istu izoformu, alirazlikuju se u svojm 5'UTR.[7]
STAU1 je povezan sa granulama stresova.[8]
