Funkcija
urediOvaj gen je član porodice sklerostina i kodira N-glikozilirani, izlučeni protein sa C-terminal om, cistinom, domenom nalik čvoru. Ovaj protein funkcionira kao antagonist morfogenetskog proteina kosti (BMP). Konkretno, izravno se povezuje s BMP-om, sprečavaujući im da vežu svoje receptore, čime regulira signalizaciju BMP-a tokom ćelijske proliferacije, diferencijacije i pogramirane ćelijske smrti.[5]
