Funkcija

Protein ZIP1 odgovoran je za aktivni transport cinka u ćelije prostate. U mnogim slučajevima karcinoma prostate, SLC39A1 je utišan zbog čega ćelije kanceri prostate imaju nizak sadržaj cinka.[9]
