Funkcija
urediProtein kodiran ovim genom sadrži motiv prsta RING-H2, za koji se zna da je važan za interakcije protein-protein. Pokazalo se da je ekspresija ovog gena indukovana mutantnim RET proteinima (MEN2A/MEN2B). Poznato je da su mutacije zametne linije u genu RET odgovorne za razvoj višestruke endokrine neoplazije (MEN).[7]
