Neuropeptid B je kratki, biološki aktivan peptid čiji je prekursor u ljudi kodiran genom NBP . Neuropeptid B djeluje putem dva G-vezana receptora, neuropeptidni B/W receptori , zvani NPBW1 i NPBW2 kodirani genima NPBWR1 i NPBWR2 . Smatra se da je neuropeptid B povezan s regulacijom hranjenja, neuroendokrinim sistemom , pamćenjem , učenjem i aferentnim putem bola .[ 5] [ 6] CNS -u, sa visokim nivoima u substantia nigra hipotalamusu , hipokampusu i kičmenoj moždini .
Dužina polipeptidnog lanca je 125 aminokiselina , sa molekulskom težinom od 13.097.[ 7]
