Funkcija
urediOvaj gen kodira jedarno kodiran mitohondrijski bifunkcijski enzim sa aktivnostima metilentetrahidrofolat-dehidrogenaze i meteniltetrahidrofolat-ciklohidrolaze. Enzim funkcionira kao homodimer i jedinstven je po svojim apsolutnim potrebama za magnezijem i neorganskim fosfatom. Formiranje kompleksa enzim-magnezij omogućava vezivanje NAD. Alternativna prerada rezultira višestrukim transkriptima koji kodiraju različite izoforme. Ovaj gen ima pseudogen na hromosomu 7.[7]
