Protein koji je kodiran ovim genom je lizosomna tiol-reduktaza, koja pri niskom pH može smanjiti proteinske disulfidne veze. Enzim se konstitutivno eksprimira u ćelijama koje prezentiraju antigen, a u drugim tipovima ćelija inducira ga gama-interferon. Ovaj enzim ima važnu ulogu u MHC klasi II obrade antigena.[7]
