COMMD9
Protein 9 sa domenom COMM je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom COMMD9.[5][6]
MURR1 je multifunkcionalni protein koji inhibira jedarni faktor kapaB (NF-kapaB), transkripcijski faktor s plejotropnim funkcijama koji utiču na urođeni i adaptivni imunitet, apoptozu, regulaciju ćelijskog ciklusa i onkogenezu. U jednoj od studija koje fokusiraju ove procese, saopćeno je o otkriću nove porodice proteina s homologijom na MURR1. Nađeno je da vi proteini tvore multimerne komplekse i identificirani su u biohemijskom pregledu na faktore povezane s MURR1. Porodica je definirana prisutnošću konzerviranog i jedinstvenog motiva zvanog COMM (gen domena za metabolizam bakra MURR1), koji funkcionira kao interfejs za interakcije protein-protein. Kao i MURR1, neki od ovih faktora također se povezuju i inhibiraju NF-kapaB. Proteini označeni kao COMMD ili COMM domeni 1-10 opsežno su konzervirani u višećelijskim eukariotskim organizmima i definiraju novu porodicu strukturnih i funkcionalnih homologa MURR1. Prototip ove porodice, MURR1/COMMD1, potiskuje NF-kapaB, ne utiući na jedarnu translokaciju ili vezivanje NF-kapaB za srodne motive, već funkcionira u jedru utičući na povezanost NF-kapaB s hromatinom.[7]
