Funkcija

Ovaj gen kodira člana potporodice latrofilinskih receptora vezanih za G-protein (GPCR). Latrofilini mogu funkcionirati i u ćelijskoj adheziji i u prijenosu signala. U eksperimentima s neljudskim vrstama, endogeno proteolitsko cijepanje unutar cisteinom bogatog GPS domena (mjesto proteolize G-protein spregnutog receptora) rezultiralo je u dvije podjedinice (velika vanćelijska N-terminal podjedinica ćelijske adhezije i podjedinica sa značajnom sličnošću sa porodica sekretin/kalcitonin GPCR-a) koji su nekovalentno vezani na ćelijskoj membrani. Iako je opisano nekoliko varijanti transkripta, utvrđena je biološka valjanost samo jedne.[6]
