Funkcija
urediSmatra se da je protein kodiran ovim genom negativan regulator NF-kappa-B posredovane transkripcije. Kodirani protein može vezati komplekse NF-kappa-B i zarobiti ih u citoplazmi, sprječavajući ih da uđu u jedro i stupe u interakciju s DNK. Fosforilacija ovog proteina cilja ga na razgradnju putem ubikvitinacije, što oslobađa komplekse NF-kappa-B da uđu u ćelijsko jedro.
