Funkcija
urediOvaj gen kodira člana porodice sestrinskih proteina izazvanih stresom. Kodirani protein smanjuje razine unutarćelijsnkih reaktivnih vrsta kisika induciranih aktiviranim Ras-om nizvodno od RAC-alfa serin/treonin-protein kinaze (Akt) i transkripcijskog faktora FoxO. Proteini su potrebni za normalnu regulaciju glukoze u krvi, otpornost na insulin i imaju ulogu u skladištenju lipida u gojaznosti. Alternativna prerada rezultira u više varijanti transkripta.
