Funkcija

RIF1 i RIF2 zatvaraju krajeve hromosoma (telomere) u kvascima.[9] Kod viših eukariota, Rif1 je uključen u odgovor na oštećenje DNK, organizaciju hromatinske arhitekture i regulaciju vremena replikacije. Pokazalo se da se RIF1 u jedru vezuje za RNK .[10]
