Funkcija
urediSklapanje i stabilnost kompleksa preinicijacije transkripcije RNK-polimeraze II na promotoru eukariotskog jedra uključuje efekte TFIIA na interakciju između TATA-vezivanja proteina (TBP) i DNK.
Ovaj gen kodira pandan koji je specifičan za zametnu ćeliju velike (alfa/beta) podjedinice općeg transkripcionog faktora TFIIA koji je u stanju da stabilizuje vezivanje TBP za DNK i može biti jedinstveno važan za biologiju sjemenika. Uočeno je da alternativna prerada za ovaj lokus daje dvije varijante transkripta, koje kodiraju različite izoforme.
Kotranskripcija ovog gena i susjednog uzvodnog gena stvara rijetki transkript (SALF), koji kodira fuzijski protein koji se sastoji od sekvence koja dijeli identitet sa svakim pojedinačnim genskim proizvodom.[7]
