Funkcija
urediOvaj gen kodira člana F-kutije porodice proteina koju karakterizira približno 40-aminokiselinski motiv F-kutija. Proteini F-kutije čine jednu od četiri podjedinice kompleksa proteinske ubikvitin-ligaze zvane SCF (SKP1-kulin-F-kutija), koje funkcioniraju u ubikvitinaciji zavisnoj o fosforilaciji. Proteini F-kutije podijeljeni su u tri klase: Fbws koji sadrže domene WD-40, Fbls sa ponavljanjima bogatim leucinom, i Fbxs koji sadrže ili različite module interakcije protein-protein ili ne prepoznaju motive. Protein kodiran ovim genom pripada klasi Fbx. Alternativna prerada ovog gena stvara najmanje tri varijante transkripta koje se razlikuju na 5' terminalu.[7]
