Eliticid ili elitocid označava "ubijanje vodstva, obrazovanih i svećenstvo grupe." Obično se izvršava tokom početka genocida u svrhu onesposobljavanja mogućeg otpora protiv agresora. Primjeri uključuju Armenski genocid, genocid u Kambodži, Njemačko-sovjetsku okupaciju Poljske,[1] i slučajeve u jugoslavenskim ratovima.[2] Pojam je prvi put koristio 1992. britanski reporter Michael Nicholson da opiše masakr u Bijeljini u Bosni i Hercegovini.[3] Tokom rata u BiH lokalni Srbi su isticali prominentne Bošnjake da bi ih kasnije ubili srpski vojnici.[4][5]
