Ovaj gen kodira protein koji sadrži tetratrikopeptid-ponavljanje za koji se smatra da je uključen u interakcije protein-protein. Manji je antigen histokompatibilnost, koji može inducirati odbacivanje transplantata presađenih muških matičnih ćelija. Alternativna prerada RNK rezultira u više varijanti transkripta koji kodiraju različite izoforme.[5]
