CST9L
Cistatin-9-oliki je protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom CST9L.[5]
Supeporodica cistatina obuhvata proteine koji sadrže višestruke sekvence slične cistatinu. Neki od članova su aktivni inhibitori cistein-proteaza, dok su drugi izgubili ili možda nikada nisu stekli ovu inhibitornu aktivnost. U natporodici postoje tri porodice inhibitora, uključujući cistatine tipa 1 (stefini), cistatine tipa 2 i kininogeni. Proteini cistatina tipa 2 su klasa inhibitora cistein-proteinaze, koji se nalaze u raznim ljudskim tečnostima i sekretu. Lokus cistatina na hromosomu 20 sadrži većinu gena i pseudogena cistatina tipa 2. Ovaj gen nalazi se u lokusu cistatina i kodira protein sličan mišjem cistatinu 9. Na osnovu njegovog testis-specifične ekspresije, vjerovatno ima ulogu u reorganizaciji tkiva tokom ranog razvoja testisa.[5]
