Funkcija
urediAngiopoetini su članovi porodice faktora rasta vaskularnog endotela i jedini poznati faktori rasta koji su uglavnom specifični za vaskularni endotel. Angiopoetin-1, angiopoetin-2 i angiopoetin-4 učestvuju u formiranju krvnih sudova.
Protein kodiran ovim genom je još jedan član porodice angiopoetina koji je široko eksprimiran u tkivima odraslih s najvišim nivoima iRNK u visoko vaskulariziranim tkivima. Utvrđeno je da je ovaj protein sekretorni protein koji ne djeluje kao endotelni mitogen in vitro.[7]
